Influence of mobile phones on health
The discussion about the effects of the use of cell phones has been going on for years probably since the day when the first cell phone was ever created. Since then scientists have performed thousands of researches and experiments involving both experimental animals like guinea pigs and rats and humans. These researches show that there is certain connection between the frequency with which people talk on their cell phones and various diseases they have. Absolutely reliable is the information that by using our cell phones we cause increased fatigue, headache, bad reaction, increased blood pressure and what not. Particularly disturbing for scientists is the danger of cancer as a result of using a cell phone. Experimental tests have shown that there is a danger of developing brain tumor, mouth cancer and leukemia for those who constantly talk on their cell phones.
If we ask our service providers about the influence of a mobile phone on our health we'll probably get a standard answer we can hear from the TV news or a newspaper. There have not been enough researches and nobody can say for sure if it is the mobile phone that causes the growing number of patients with cancer. In my opinion, the fact that mobile technologies may cause the development of this disease is evident, but this type of information is intentionally kept secret in order not to cause general panic. Everybody is interested in keeping quiet – not just big companies that have invested in the development of new mobile technologies but also governments that are in one way or another tied with businesses in every country.
A survey conducted not long ago shows that the majority of those who were questioned share this point of view. 69 percent of the respondents said that they considered mobile technologies harmful for their health.
Nevertheless the researches are still being conducted. According to them the influence radiation from mobile phones on our bodies is still not evident. It is possible, that the increased number of cancers in the world is caused not just by mobile phones themselves but by the combined factors like ecology and so on.
From the technical point of view, there are mobile technologies that produce more radiation than the other. For example such analogue standards as NMT450i and AMPS produce greater effect on the human's health than more advance digital technologies like UMTS or CDMA.
If we are talking about the peculiarities of the terminals themselves, experts say that the more expensive a cell phone is, the less harm it will probably do you. The matter is that more expensive gadgets have antennas with greater sensitivity. It means that the signal may remain relatively low if the phone is used far from a transmitter, but you will none the less be able to make and receive calls.
Well, let's try to draw a conclusion. If we analyze information widely available for everyone (which is very contradictory in its nature), we may say that the negative impact of mobile technologies on our health exists, but it is not evident, and it won't be until all the researches will be finished. Until then, we may try to avoid extensive contact with mobile devices while informing as many people as possible about the potential risks cell phones bring us.
